Java Application Server Monitoring with syslink Xandria

Pfäffikon, May 27, 2014 – While the development team of Swiss-based syslink is busy working on Release 6 of the System Management Solution there are some interesting new features published for the current release 5.2.

First of all there is monitoring of Java Application Servers like Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss, WebLogic, GlassFish and WebSphere. Given a supported JMX interface every application deployed on top of these application servers can be included as well. That increases the scope of syslink Xandria by a whole class of business critical applications, first of all in the area of Production Control, Purchasing, and Supply Chain Management.

The Implementation was realized by adding another custom check to the already known toolbox. This allows customers to answer their monitoring needs in only a few steps.

Another great new function is monitoring of ABAP profiles. One or more profile parameters can be compared against given parameter values. You may check if password policies are violated or if a certain profile specification is matched, which covers security and quality aspects especially for auditing of SAP solutions.

There are also a few smaller modifications. The XanMobile App has been adapted to the iOS 7 design and there are many improvements for the SAP HANA checks, the Password Audit check, and the spool monitoring.

The new Revision 2 of syslink Xandria 5.2 will be available at June 3, 2014.
